Three Great Ways to Spend Father’s Day in St. Louis

ImageLet’s face it Father’s Day usually comes as more of an afterthought than an actual celebration. Occurring less than a month after Mother’s day, we have usually pulled out all the stops for Mom and forgotten all about dear old Dad. So instead of the traditional BBQ, try taking Dad out for a day on the town. St. Louis and its surrounding areas offer so many ways to celebrate with Dad!

On Saturday, June 15th the Contemporary Art Museum will be hosting its Summer Family Concert. This year’s line-up includes the Babaloo, the Boogers and plenty of other family-friendly musical acts. There is more entertainment than just music! Kids can enjoy face painting, balloon animals and a variety of other crafts. Check out CAM’s website for more information.

If you are looking for an event in the southern parts of the metro area, take a look at Kimmswick’s Annual Father’s Day Car Show on Sunday. You can check out some of the coolest trucks, cars and motorcycles to ever rule the roadways. There will also be a D.J and plenty of other activities for the entire family. Just make sure to get there in time for the trophy presentations at 3 p.m.!

Finally, if you want to spend a more serene weekend with Dad take him to the Busch Conservation Area in St. Charles County. It is great place to go fishing, boasting 28 ponds with a good population of bass, catfish and trout. However, if fishing isn’t your thing, Busch is still a great place to view Missouri wildlife in their natural habitat. Grab your best pair of binoculars and hit the trail!

This is just a sample of the great events and activities St. Louis has to offer! Where’s your favorite spot to spend time with dad in STL?
